When it&#8217;s done, you usually want to get your resume into the hands of as many hiring managers as possible. However, you&#8217;ve got to make some difficult decisions about what to do with your near-perfect resume, especially if you&#8217;re putting it somewhere on the Internet.</p>

<p>Depending on who you ask, you may receive different pointers on how and where to post your resume. In other words, there’s no sure-fire way to be discovered by recruiters online. It&#8217;s important not to disregard any tips, however, when you set out to get your resume out there. Before hitting the web to post your resume, think things through and consider some of these ideas.</p>

<p><strong>Saturating Your Resume</strong></p>
<p>There’s nothing like being seen by as many recruiters and hiring managers as possible. You can accomplish this feat by finding as many job hunting websites as you can, and posting your resume on all of them. There are argument both for and against taking this action. Let’s look at a few reasons to consider taking this route.</p>

<p>First, there are a number of job sites that are tailored to your field, allowing you to saturate your resume while remaining focused on a specialty. Also, you don’t always know what position you’re looking for, just as recruiters don’t always know what applicants they’re looking for. Sometimes, job positions are created specifically for promising applicants who seem valuable. This could be you, which is why it’s not a bad thing to consider saturating your resume for many eyes to see.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Posting in Moderation</strong></p>
<p>On the other hand, some experts make a case for using moderation when posting your resume on the Internet. When you adopt a scattershot approach, you miss out on the ability to customize your resume for different fields and industries, as a resume posted to dozens of job websites have to be general. If a resume&#8217;s very general, it doesn&#8217;t tend to be as effective in getting a job in a specialized field.</p>

<p>So while saturation is a good way to have your resume seen by a large number of recruiters, without it being specific to any one field, many recruiters will overlook it anyway. This makes a good case for using the resume in moderation instead, focusing on one job board, or a handful of companies, where you tailor your resume to appeal to only a few employers.</p>

<p><strong>Private Postings</strong></p>
<p>As you know, when you post on job boards, your information can often be thrown out there too far into Cyberspace, leaving it vulnerable to the simplest of engine searches. You might avoid public postings altogether, especially if you&#8217;re a private person or you can&#8217;t afford to publicize your job search. Instead, you can privately submit your <a target="_blank" href="http://www.resumelines.com">resume via emai</a>l or submission forms, or simply network privately with people you know. This way, you won’t risk the wrong people finding out what you’re up to.</p>

<p>Which route you choose to take for online resume distribution is up to you. You might try moderation first and if that doesn’t work, consider saturation. Remember, you only need to impress one hiring manager to get the position you want. You&#8217;ll get the job offers and interviews eventually if you simply write a great resume and get it out there where it can be seen.</p>

<p> <strong>Work well with your peers<br /> Why it&#8217;s central:</strong> &#8220;We spend a lot of time at work; there is nothing worse than someone who cannot get along with others,&#8221; Larkin says. It is helpful to understand the unwritten rules, respect, reliability, and competence.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;Tell a story,&#8221; Larkin suggests. For example, &#8220;I was interviewing someone for a employment and asked about a situation where he had experienced a challenging situation at work. He told me about a situation where the business had a major deadline and needed all hands on deck.He is able to stop one task and help on another.&#8221;</p>
<p> <strong>Ability to make money<br /> Why it&#8217;s crucial:</strong> Hiring managers want people who can prove that they will increase the organization&#8217;s revenues or decrease its costs, Johnson says. &#8220;During a recession, revenues are difficult for organizations to generate and manager have typically already cut their costs about as much as they can. Always put an emphasis on the fact that you care about helping to increase revenue.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;company&#8217;s love metrics. The more you can put a figure on your work, the better,&#8221; Larkin says. Some positions are easier to measure than others, but it can be done and we recommend you do it. &#8220;If you&#8217;re a law clerk, estimate how many minutes a day your work has saved your previous employers by looking at how much faster it is for people to access the information they need,&#8221; he says.</p>
<p> <strong>Impressive resume<br /> Why it&#8217;s essential:</strong> &#8220;A resume is a person&#8217;s billboard; a reflection of the applicant in the eyes of the reader,&#8221; says Rachel Ryan, president of RNRcatecure. &#8220;First impressions are lasting ones and a resume is often the vehicle to either make a nice impression or a poor one.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;Make sure several people review the resume for content, style and accuracy. Co workers that give the best constructive criticism are usually very skeptical to begin with. If a person has no comments, try another, and another, to obtain the collective wisdom of peers,&#8221; Ryan says.</p>

Many times, references are the critical key to landing a work when the hiring decision is close,&#8221; she says.</p>
<p> <strong>Artistic problem-solving skills<br /> Why it&#8217;s essential: &#8220;</strong>Company&#8217;s know that in business, the office dynamic changes daily. As soon as we think all is fine, the economy changes or the competition makes a surprise move and the corporation&#8217;s own strategy must change,&#8221; says Larkin. &#8220;A person who gets locked into a set way of doing things finds it tricky or impossible to adjust&#8221;. &#8220;They are a drag on the business as opposed to an asset for it.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;Know how to tackle challenges and opportunities in a way no one will find in a textbook. Make it clear to your manager that you have a passion for learning new things and volunteer to take on extra work, even if it means putting in additional hours,&#8221; Larkin says.</p>
<p> <strong>The enthusiastic always show initiative<br /> Why it&#8217;s key: &#8220;</strong>If you show consistent enthusiasm and take initiative on the trade, you can count on being noticed and rewarded. {Every business looks to put their most enthusiastic people forward with important clients and customers,&#8221; Larkin says}. &#8220;By taking initiative, you convey a true team spirit and illustrate that you are not someone who simply meets the criteria of a job description, but who goes above and beyond what is required to help the business succeed.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;Don&#8217;t forget to say, &#8217;superior salutations&#8217; with a lilt in your voice; when you pass someone in the hall, smile and say, &#8216;Hello,&#8217;&#8221; Larkin reminds. &#8220;It&#8217;s easy to clam up around top management when you are new to the business world, but showing confidence and a comfort level with people more senior to you will lead to your being considered for more challenging work.&#8221;</p>
<p> <strong>first-rate cultural fit<br /> Why it&#8217;s significant:</strong> Recruiters are pressured to find the right match for a business; &#8220;Applicants are under pressure to Inventively differentiate themselves and demonstrate a desire to succeed&#8221;, says Johnson. &#8220;Managers are always thinking of how you will fit in.&#8221;<br /> &#8220;Look for different ways &#8212; a personal blog or Twitter &#8212; to deliver your message about what makes you a great cultural fit. Find ways to incorporate specific examples that illustrate the cultural competencies they are looking for, like flexibility, leadership or teamwork, as this will help bosss understand you&#8217;re serious and excited about the position,&#8221; Johnson says.</p>
